Assistant Chief Constable - Collaboration Projects Matt Jukes

(shared role with South Wales Police)

Matt joined Gwent's ACPO team in April 2011, working on shared projects with his own force, South Wales Police.

He came to Wales from the South Yorkshire Police force where he was previously borough commander for Rotherham and Director of Intelligence.

He joined the Police service in 1995 has risen through the ranks quickly in his career having gone from DC to Detective Superintendent before being promoted to divisional commander.

In the last 15 years he has undertaken a number of different roles which have ranged from conducting a murder investigation in India to patrolling the streets of Rotherham.

Matt brings with him a combination of both specialist and local policing skills and has a wealth of experience particularly relating to counter-terrorism and policing criminal incidents.

A career highlight for Matt was working in Washington DC as a counter terrorism advisor with the UK law enforcement delegation to the G8.
