(shared role with South Wales Police)

Mark joined Gwent's ACPO team in January 2011 as the Director of Human Resources, working on shared projects with his own force, South Wales Police.

Previous to this, Mark held a similar position as Director of Resources at Wiltshire Police for five years.

Most of Mark's career has been within the HR arena, and has seen him running HR projects in locations across the UK and Europe. He has a professional background in financial services- specifically in insurance and investment companies. Mark also has vast experience in managing large scale organisational change.

His role within South Wales and Gwent Police sees Mark taking on responsibility for over 8000 employees.

Commenting on his appointment, Mark said:

These are challenging times for both forces, and it is my job to support the public by focusing upon our most valuable resource of all ? our police officers, staff, and volunteers.

I am committed to making a positive difference by using my experience in managing change processes."
