Online Watch Link (OWL) and Neighbourhood Watch

One of the best ways to deter criminals and encourage your community to look out for one another is to start or join a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
With the introduction of OWL (Online Watch Link), it is quick and easy to join / start a scheme and stay up to date with what is happening locally.
To join a local scheme, simply visit http://www.owl.co.uk/gwent/ and enter your postcode. You can either choose to join a scheme, or if there isn't one locally, you can leave your contact details and you will receive information about to set one up.
Once you've joined, you can use OWL to talk to neighbours about local events and you will also receive regular information from your local Neighbourhood Policing Team, including crime alerts and crime prevention advice. You can also use the system to submit information to the police, for example if you have seen anything suspicious in your area.
If you know of friends, relatives or neighbours who would like to join a local Neighbourhood Watch / OWL, but don't have access to the internet, then can still do so.
All they need to do is complete the form on the attached leaflet and return it to their local Neighbourhood Policing Team. They can then choose to receive updates via the telephone or even text.
