The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) has launched a 'Secure Your Fertiliser' web site, aimed at the farming and growing community.
For many years terrorist groups have misused fertilisers to make explosive devices. The importance of securing fertiliser for use in the farming and growing community cannot be underestimated.
The web site provides information and advice for farmers, growers, land-owners and farm staff about the rationale behind securing fertilisers and offers cost-effective guidance as to how to achieve this. Whilst the information is intended mainly for farmers it also offers useful guidance which can equally be applied throughout the fertiliser supply chain.
The web site is supported by all the UK farmers' unions together with UK fertiliser manufacturers, importers, and numerous trade associations representing grain, dairy, beef and sheep farming.
