As part of the 'Justice Seen, Justice Done' campaign, we aim to give you information on specific crimes and what happens to those brought to justice. This new section is designed to inform you of what happens to offenders who commit crime where you live after they have been to court.

Christopher O'Flaherty
Age: 31
Address: Mount Bax, Alway, Newport
Sentence: 4 years prison
O'Flaherty, 21, of Mount Bax, appeared in Newport Crown Court on 27 February 2012 and was jailed after admitting conspiring to supply amphetamine. Previously Gwent Police had found a van in Duffryn containing mixed amphetamine worth between £16,000 and £60,000. OFlaherty's fingerprints were found in the makeshift drug factory. His house was later searched and £21,000 cash and other drug related items were found. A Police dog also later found nearby a holdall containing more drugs.
Joshua James Curley
Age: 19
Address: Jones Street, Baneswell, Newport
Sentence: 4 years youth custody
Curley tried to sell goods he had obtained from a burglary to a pawnbroker who became suspicious and refused to accept the goods. Curley then wrote a note to the victim demanding £80 for the return of the items. This note was handed to the police who subsequently arrested Curley and connected him to two other burglaries and two robberies. One of the robberies was of a 63 year old man who was punched and kicked to the ground. A female, who was with the victim was also punched to the ground. In sentencing Curley Judge David Morris said that the offences had left the victims "profoundly affected."

Stephen Watkins
Age: 32

Sentence: 20 months prison
Watkins was jailed for his part in a nationwide drugs ring being run from Merseyside. John Burton, 41, from the Fazakerley area of Liverpool was the head of the conspiracy which saw large amounts of cannabis, cocaine and bags of amphetamine taken around the country to dealers in South Wales and the West Midlands. Watkins, was given a year and four months at Liverpool Crown Court after pleading guilty to Conspiracy to supply Amphetamine (Class B). Watkins and his co conspirators were filmed meeting Burton (who was jailed for nine years and three months) in the car park of Somerfield, in Longmoor Lane, Fazakerley, and later stopped by Police.

Jeffrey Williams
Age: 46
Address: Blackwood

Williams was jailed for his part in a nationwide drugs ring being run from Merseyside. Michael Kenneth Evans
Age: 24
Address: Tredegar
Sentence: 5 Years Prison
Michael Kenneth Evans, 24, of Tredegar was sentenced to five years prison at Cardiff Crown Court on 30 April 2012. Evans was sentenced following the robbery of a 78 year old man from Tredegar. Three men entered the victim's home threatened him and demanded money. They pushed him over before making off with around £2,000 cash, which was the victims life savings. Officer in the Case Detective Constable Rhys Potter commented: "This was a despicable crime, the severity of which is reflected in the lengthy sentence given to Evans. Hopefully, this result will provide some comfort to the victim."

Michael Haywood
Age: 49
Address: Machen
Sentence: 14 months prison
Michael HAYWOOD, a 49 year old man from the Machen area was sentenced to 14 month imprisonment for breaching his Anti-social behaviour order (ASBO). The ASBO was placed on him with strict conditions due to the problems he had been causing his neighbours. Over a two week period in January 2012 he made in excess of 100 silent telephone calls to neighbours, and also made hoax coals to Gwent Police from telephone boxes in the Caerphilly area. In addition he also ordered goods and services to be delivered to neighbours.
