Employment Monitoring Information
The employment monitoring data gives information on the employment statistics of the Force. It includes the workforce profile across the organisation including officers, police staff and PCSOs. It looks at ranks and grades and breaks down by gender, disability and race. It also breaks down by other protected characteristics, where this information is available.
We recognise that this data may not include information relating to every protected characteristic. Reasons for this may include that the data is not currently being collected, recorded or that the force does not have the technical systems in place to easily record or extract the data. Where this is the case, it will be considered when developing our Strategic Equality Objectives.
Employment monitoring data has been published, as part of our current consultation with the public and staff, with a view to establishing equality objectives relating to the workforce.
For the year 2010/11, Gwent Police agreed five local employment targets relating to under-represented Groups with the Police Authority. An end of year and six monthly update on the progress in achieving these targets is reported to the Police Authority. An annual update on the progress made in achieving actions within the Single Equality Scheme Action Plan is also reported to the Police Authority. These reports can be found below.
