Maindee man sentenced to 5 years in prison

Conviction: 2 x possessing a prohibited firearm, possessing a disguised firearm and possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.

Officers raided Perrott's Newport home on January 26th 2012 and found an illegal four-inch long taser device, which was disguised as a torch. Several packages of amphetamine totalling 856.24 grams as well as two air rifles were also discovered.

Perrott pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm and one count of possessing a disguised firearm at an earlier hearing. He also admitted possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.

Perrott appeared in Court in December 2012 and was sentenced to five years prison for possessing the firearms and was also given three years for the possession of each of the air rifles and 18 months for drug offences, all to run concurrently.
