Officers from Tredegar Neighbourhood Policing Team are clamping down on anti-social drivers this month after receiving an increasing number of reports of cars causing a nuisance.
Common complaints include: Cars driving up Stable Lane erratically and cars being driven at high speed with their music on full volume.
Officers have also seen an increase in motorists parking on Stable Lane bus bay and will also be tackling this issue.
Officers are warning motorists caught driving in an anti-social manner will be issued a Section 59 warning. These warnings mean that if the same driver is given another warning within 12 months, their car can be seized. Those caught parking in the Stable Lane bus bay will also be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £30.
Tredegar CSO, Hanna Bridges, said: 'The aim of this clampdown is to remove nuisance and potentially dangerous cars and drivers from the streets of Tredegar. There's no hiding for motorists that want to drive in an anti-social manner. We've recently increased patrols and will be concentrating our efforts on all hotspot areas. Our message to motorists is to drive safely and respectfully or face a fine."

Anti-social driving can range from careless driving to deliberate activity, including:
• Speeding
• Thoughtless driving
• Loud Stereos
• Noisy exhausts
• Handbrake turns or 'Donuts'
• Continuous lapping of an area
• Racing
• Wheel spinning
• Drink/drug driving
• Tailgating
• Use of a mobile phone whilst driving
• Vehicle in unsafe condition
What can you, as a member of the public, do to help?
• Write down the vehicle details, ie, make, model, colour and number plate
• Make a note of the location, using house numbers, shop names or road names to pinpoint where the incident occurred
• Write a brief description of what you saw while it is still fresh in your mind
