Tackling issues on High Street, Fleur-de-LysIt was decided at the last PACT meeting that officers would continue to concentrate their efforts on the High Street after some recent successes.

Work with local shops and housing associations continued at the end of last year.

One more resident was moved on from the village after coming to the attention of the Police and their housing association on more than one occasion. The reports of anti-social behaviour have continued to drop consistently and the number of calls we have received have illustrated this.

During May, six calls of anti-social behaviour were received on the High Street, Fleur-de-Lys and this dropped to two calls by December.

Pengam officers have been working with colleagues from Caerphilly Council's Community Safety Warden Team. They have been patrolling the High Street and the surrounding areas and these patrols have resulted in nine people being referred into the anti-social behaviour process due to their unacceptable behaviour.

The local team and Council Wardens will monitor the situation on High Street and their efforts into the new year and beyond. Please continue to report anti-social behaviour on our non-emergency number, 101.
