Weapon and cash seized during raid at Cwmbran address

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of numerous offences, including being concerned in the supply of class-B drugs and possession of a bladed article.

Officers tackling serious and organised crime in Torfaen carried out a warrant in the Northville area of Cwmbran this morning.

We arrested a 25-year-old man from Cwmbran on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class-B drugs, possession of criminal property and possession of a bladed article.

He is currently in police custody.

During the search, officers seized a knife, a quantity of cash, designer clothes and mobile phones.

PC Doolan, officer in the case, said:

“This morning, officers from our serious and organised crime team visited an address in the Northville area of Cwmbran to carry out a warrant, following concerns raised by the community around drug offences.

“During the search, we seized a quantity of cash, a knife, phones – and made an arrest.

“We’re committed to protecting our communities from the devastating effects of drugs and associated crimes and will always act on any information the public provides us about concerns they have in their neighbourhoods.”
