Police Officers

Gwent Police are looking to recruit Detective Constables from all backgrounds, currently serving with other Home Office Forces, who have completed their probationary period.

We are looking to recruit qualified and experienced Detective Constables with skills and experience in managing a range of complex investigations, and/or experience of digital evidence gathering, dealing with cyber-enabled crimes, and an understanding of a range of vulnerabilities and the appropriate ways to respond.  As well as many staff benefits we provide a wide range of career opportunities, specialist posts, as well as development and promotion prospects.

We are looking for a motivated, diligent communications professional to join Gwent Police’s Corporate Communications department. With 3+ years’ experience, you will join a team of Communications and Engagement Specialists to deliver internal and external communications programmes and media support for operational Policing .  Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll be an assured media operator and adept in creating compelling content to support our communications campaigns.

We are looking for a Mental Health Triage Professional in our Force Control Room to provide advice, guidance and direction to officers and staff in Gwent Police in relation to responding to those calls for service in relation to individuals who appear to be in mental health crisis or have mental health needs. Making professional, autonomous decisions for which they are accountable within their Professional Code of Conduct and other relevant policies.

The Recruitment Process

Please note: the shift enhancements will not start to be paid until week 7 of employment as the first 6 weeks are classroom based Monday to Friday.

Once fully competent in all 3 areas of the role you will be on at least £26,398 which includes your 20% shift allowance (plus another £3141 approx. in weekend enhancements).
