Detective Constable (Transferee Opportunities)

Gwent Police are looking to recruit Detective Constables from all backgrounds, currently serving with other Home Office Forces, who have completed their probationary period.

We are looking to recruit qualified and experienced Detective Constables with skills and experience in managing a range of complex investigations, and/or experience of digital evidence gathering, dealing with cyber-enabled crimes, and an understanding of a range of vulnerabilities and the appropriate ways to respond.  As well as many staff benefits we provide a wide range of career opportunities, specialist posts, as well as development and promotion prospects.

Volunteer Police Cadets

This is an exciting opportunity for young people aged between 14-18 years old to join Gwent Police. It’s an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the police, broaden your knowledge and learn new skills whilst supporting the communities of Gwent.

The Gwent Police Cadet Scheme is a Youth Volunteer programme and is part of the National Volunteer Cadet Programme.  The Gwent Police Cadet Scheme is a fun, inspiring and interactive programme contributing to the wider Policing objectives. The Cadet Scheme comprises of weekly unit sessions and several hours volunteering in the community.

The Cadet Scheme is also designed to develop your understanding of everyday policing and give you valuable experience in community engagement and developing your communication skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be processed through checks before being allocated to a unit and added to the ‘Portal’ where further details will be required from a parent or guardian including a health questionnaire, to allow for reasonable adjustments to be made.
