3 arrests following early morning Serious and Organised Crime raids in Gwent

Officers have arrested 3 people following 3 early morning raids today, Thursday 3rd January in the Rhymney area.

Specialist officers were involved in the operation targeting specific properties in the Caerphilly North area.

A quantity of  what is thought to be class A drugs, cash and suspected stolen property has been seized, the drugs will be sent away for forensic examination and identification –  this is believed to be the proceeds of criminal activity and serious organised crime.

3 people have now been arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply. They are all currently in police custody and investigations are now ongoing.

Police Sergeant for the Caerphilly North area Emma Sowrey said: “The warrants today were the culmination of careful planning and Intelligence work carried out by offices. We would like to thank all local residents for their support, we need your help to tackle this kind of criminal behaviour. Please continue to tell us about suspicious activity you see in your local communities. You see the activity in your local streets on a  daily basis and if you see something that either seems out of place or in most cases, if something just does not add up, please report it. What may seems like a small detail to you, to us, it could be the final piece to a much bigger puzzle.”
