Officers are reminding residents to make sure they lock their homes and vehicles after receiving multiple reports of burglaries around the Rogerstone area of Newport.
In the last seven days we have received a number of reports of burglaries in the area where valuables including cash and cars have been taken. Home and car doors have also been tested to see if they are unlocked.
Inspector Jason Williams says, “I’m urging residents to make sure all their property is secure, including the doors and windows of cars and homes – especially left unattended and overnight. Please also do not leave your car unattended, even for a short while, with the engine running.
“Please remain vigilant and make sure that any suspicious activity is reported to us.”
Residents are being urged to report any suspicious activity to the police. Residents are asked to call 999 to report ongoing activity or call 101 or Direct Message us on Facebook or Twitter with any information.
