Car stolen from outside an address in Cwm Cottage Road, Abertillery – did you see anything?

We’re appealing for information following a reported burglary in the Cwm Cottage Road area of Abertillery.

The incident took place at around 1.30am, in the early hours of Thursday 30th May 2019, at a property in Cwm Cottage Road. During the burglary, where the home was entered through an open window at the front of the property, keys of a black, Renault Kadjar, registration CE67 UVZ were taken and the car was stolen from outside the property.

Blaenau Gwent Inspector, Amanda Thomas explains: “Opportunist thieves can be even more tempted at this time of year, with the warmer weather, windows and doors are opened and residents can become complacent about their home security. It only takes seconds for your home or car to be targeted. I want to remind residents to always lock windows and doors and please, remind family members to pass these crime prevention messages on through generations, young and old. Finally, always keep valuables out of sight – car keys are quite often left on side units, tables or hung in obvious key holders. Don’t make it easy for these criminals.
