Two men in court following warrants in Caerphilly

Two people have appeared in court charged with drug offences following drug warrants in Caerphilly.

Officers carried out drug warrants yesterday in the Caerphilly area as part of Operation Jigsaw, which targets serious and organised crime in Gwent.

Five addresses were searched in the Trethomas, Bedwas and Abertridwr areas as part of the operation.

Two men were arrested yesterday and have since been charged.

A 31-year-old man from Trethomas has been charged with conspiring to supply a class A drug – cocaine, conspiring to produce a controlled drug of class B – amphetamine, two counts of possessing extreme pornographic image and one count of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

A 28-year-old man from Bedwas has been charged with conspiring to supply a controlled drug of class A – cocaine and conspiring to supply a class B controlled drug – amphetamine.

Both appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court this morning.

They have been remanded until their next court appearance on August 7.
