UPDATE: Serious Road Traffic Collision, Llanllowell, Monmouthshire

Officers continue to investigate a serious road traffic collision in Llanllowell Lane, Llanllowell, Monmouthshire.

At approximately 4.05pm on Sunday, 3rd February 2019, we received reports of a collision involving a car and three cyclists.

One cyclist suffered minor injuries and was treated at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, before being discharged. Two cyclists suffered serious injuries and were taken by ambulance to University Hospital Wales in Cardiff. One has since been discharged, but the other remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 40 year old man from the Newport area and a 45 year old woman from the Cwmbran area have both been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing injury, driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit, and for failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision.

Both remain in police custody.
