Warning to all motorists during the colder weather

On the morning of Thursday 31st January 2019, a white, Kia Sportage, registration CE18 VJP, was stolen from Wesley Road, Castle View, Caerphilly.

The car was stolen while the owner was inside the house as they defrosted their car and the ignition was left running.

PC Stuart Lewis says: “We’ve seen similar reports of this type of crime across Gwent over the last few weeks.  Should you need to defrost your windscreen during the colder weather, please stay with your vehicle. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended and unlocked, with or without the engine running. Always be vigilant - it only takes seconds for thieves to target your car.
