Caerphilly man jailed for producing cannabis at home

30-year old Matthew Welsh from Penyrheol, Caerphilly has started a 26 month prison sentence for producing cannabis in his home address.
Matthew, pleaded guilty to the offence of producing class B drugs (cannabis) and was sentenced at Newport Crown Court on Friday 4 February 2021.
Officer in the case, PC Iwan Adams said: “As a result of proactive enquires made by the Caerphilly Neighbourhood Policing Team, officers attended the home of Matthew Welsh in the Caerphilly area where a sizeable cannabis production was located and recovered.
“Gwent Police will continue target those individuals identified as responsible for the production of cannabis within our communities.
