A 26 year old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal road traffic collision in Newport.
The collision was reported at approximately 2am this morning, Wednesday 31st March, and took place on Caerleon Road, Newport. It involved a cyclist and a car, a silver Audi A3.
The cyclist, a 37 year old man from Newport, was taken to The Grange Hospital where he sadly died.
The 26 year old man arrested remains in police custody at this time.
Officers are appealing for witnesses of the collision, or anyone who was in the following areas around 2am this morning who has dashcam footage to contact us:

Clarence Place
