We're appealing for information following the recent thefts of two mopeds in Blaenau Gwent.
Between 7pm on 1 September and 6pm on 2 September, a 125cc black Honda moped (CK65YEL) was stolen from the Blaina area. (reference number: 2100309238)
Between 4.30pm – 7pm on 2 September, another 125cc black Honda (RA51UBB) was stolen from an address on Eureka Place, Ebbw Vale. (2100309721)
This vehicle was, later that evening, involved in a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Wesleyan Row, Ebbw Vale.
We received reports that two men abandoned the moped, later recovered by police, and ran from the scene.
No injuries were reported.
Inspector Shane Underwood said: "Our officers are working hard to find those responsible for these incidents.
"If you know the identity of the individuals, were in the areas at the time or have any information you believe will assist officers with their enquiries, please call 101, quoting the relevant reference numbers highlighted above.
"In the meantime, I'd like to urge moped and motorcycle owners in the area to take extra care when securing their vehicles.
"You can reduce risk of theft by using a disc lock to help secure the front brake disc, using a chain through the back wheel and covering the vehicle after using the steering lock and removing the keys from the ignition."
Anyone with any information on the thefts are asked to call 101, quoting either 2100309238 or 2100309721, or to send us a direct message via Facebook or Twitter.
Alternatively, you can report information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
