We’re appealing for information to assist officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Ty Canol Lane, Machen on Wednesday 15 September at around 9.25am.
The collision involved a car and a motorbike, and the motorcyclist – a 50-year-old man from the Caerphilly area – was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Welsh Air Ambulance.
He can be named as Ian Edwards and his family are currently receiving support from specialist officers.
Enquiries are ongoing at this stage and we’re asking anyone who was in the Ty Canol Lane area of Machen between 9am and 9.30am to get in touch with us.
We’re appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, who has not yet spoken with officers, to get in contact.
Any motorists who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time of the collision is also urged to come forward.
