The 48-hour order, which is being issued following reports of disorderly behaviour in the town centre, will be in place from 5pm this evening and end at 5pm on Sunday 17 July.
It covers the areas highlighted on the map below, including: High Street, Market Place, the bus station and Blackwood Gate Retail Park.

The order gives officers extra powers to direct groups to leave the area if their behaviour is likely to contribute to disorder or cause harassment, alarm or distress to members of the public.
If they return to that area after being moved on, they face being arrested.
Inspector Oliver Petty said:
“We’ll not tolerate anti-social behaviour and will continue to take action against anyone causing disorder and harm in our communities.
“Ahead of what is expected to be a very warm weekend, we’re asking parents to ensure they know where their children are at all times, especially while the dispersal order is in effect.
"If you see us while we’re in the town centre over the weekend and have any concerns you’d like to discuss, please do stop to talk to us.
"Alternatively, you can report your concerns by calling 101, or by sending us a direct message via Facebook or Twitter.”
