We’re appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision on the M4 between junction 24 and 25 at around 7.30am on Sunday 3 July.
Officers attended and the collision involved a white van and a green Land Rover.
Paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service also attended and a 67-year-old man from Newport was taken to University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, for treatment and is in a stable condition.
A 37-year-old man from Mountain Ash was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was later released under investigation.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact us.
We’re asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or any motorists with dashcam footage that were using the M4 between 7.30am and 8.00am and between junction 24 and 25 to contact us.
