We’re investigating a report of a robbery in Coronation Street, Tredegar at around 3.35pm on Monday 21 March.
Three men were approached by a man who reportedly reached into his pocket and pulled out a black-coloured firearm and started making threats.
This man then reportedly assaulted the victim, a 40-year-old man from Tredegar, and stole a mobile phone and a baseball cap from the victim.
The victim was left with facial injuries that required hospital treatment, but he has since been discharged.
Officers arrested a 41-year-old man from the Tredegar area on suspicion of robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.
He was later released on conditional bail as enquiries continue.
