It is with the greatest sadness that we learn the news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 8 September.
On hearing of Her Majesty’s passing, Chief Constable Pam Kelly QPM said:
"Today is a very sad day. Her Majesty dedicated 70 years of service to our nation, and she did so with commitment and pride.
“In her seven decades of public duty, Her Majesty’s unwavering devotion to the United Kingdom has left an indelible mark on us all.
"Everyone at Gwent Police is deeply saddened to hear of Her Majesty's passing and I convey my deepest condolences, on behalf of the service, to the entire Royal Family."
