On Tuesday 14 March, Pace is delivering a free community webinar to parents and carers in Gwent.
These webinars will help you spot the signs of child exploitation.
You will learn about criminal exploitation and county lines, how to spot the signs, and will hear a first-hand account from someone who experienced exploitation as a child.
There will be an opportunity later in the year for you to attend with your children, for them to learn about the dangers and spotting the signs too.
Detective Sergeant Simon Thomas, Modern Day Slavery lead, said:
“These sessions are a great way for those with children to familiarise themselves on spotting the signs of child exploitation.
“Child exploitation presents in many forms, from the selling, storing, and moving of drugs known as county lines to grooming, all of which are extremely harmful to children and their families.
“Spotting the signs can be difficult but attending this webinar can help you identify early warning signs, and it could help prevent this happening to your child or a child that you know.
“If your child, or a child you know, is frequently missing, has unexplained amounts of money, or has multiple mobile phones, among many other behavioural changes, they could be a victim of exploitation.”
Pace will cover what exploitation may look like within the Gwent area and offer advice and support.
The interactive webinar will give you the opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and connect with others.
