Officers were called following a road traffic collision in Cromwell Road, Risca, at around 10.30am on Saturday 11th November.
The collision involved a white Audi A4 car and a pedestrian.
Officers attended, along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
The pedestrian, a 91-year-old woman, was taken to hospital where she later died. Her next of kin are receiving support from specialist officers.
Enquiries are ongoing and we're asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or any motorists travelling on Cromwell Road between 10.15am and 10.45am on Saturday 11th November, to contact us.
