Witness appeal following collision on the A4042

Officers want to speak to anyone who was travelling on the A4042 between 12.15am and 12.45am on Saturday 30 September.
We received a report of a road traffic collision on the A4042 at around 12.45am on Saturday 30 September
Officers attended, along with personnel from Welsh Ambulance Service, and the collision involved a blue Vauxhall Corsa and an e-scooter.
The rider of the e-scooter, a 26-year-old man from Newport, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
His next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers.
The driver of the car, an 18-year-old from Pontypool, received minor injuries.
