A police officer has been appointed to work closely with residents and community groups in a Monmouthshire town.
PC Dan Graham has taken up a role as the new neighbourhood ward manager for Caldicot.
PC Graham previously worked as a response officer in Chepstow.
He is looking forward to protecting and reassuring the residents of Caldicot.
“I am planning to work closely with partners and community groups in Caldicot and the surrounding areas to address concerns and engage with residents and businesses,” he said.
“Together, with our partners, I will be working tirelessly to make sure that Caldicot and the surrounding area is a safer place for everyone to enjoy.”
PC Graham will be based at Caldicot Police Station.
“We have a great team in Caldicot that includes police community support officers and this new role is perfect for me; it’s people-focused and proactive,” he said.
“As well as listening to and understanding concerns from residents, I will work with our neighbourhood officers to put measures in place to address any issues, including illegal drugs and anti-social behaviour, that can affect any community.”
Emma Sowrey, Neighbourhood Inspector for Monmouthshire, said: “I am delighted that PC Graham has taken up his new role in Caldicot.
“Neighbourhood police officers work within their local communities to reduce crime and build positive partnerships.
“I know that PC Graham will enjoy working with residents to build a clear picture of what is happening in Caldicot and the surrounding area.”
