Can you help us identify this man who may be able to help with our investigation?
Officers investigating a report of fraud are trying to identify this man (pictured in this CCTV footage), who may be able to help with enquires.
We received a report of fraud after a group of people reportedly took a significant amount of money from a couple in Newport.
The group called the couples phone often, pretending to work for the police. They told them that they were being targeted by someone trying to withdraw money from their account.
In order to help the investigation and keep their money safe, they were told to take out a large amount of cash which was subsequently collected.
We are now trying to identify the man pictured, who was in the area at the time and may be able to help with our enquiries.
He was seen on Yewberry Lane, Newport at around 4.50pm on Thursday 30 January.
He was wearing a black coat with the hood up, black bottoms and black and white trainers. He was also wearing a face mask.
If you recognise the man, or if you have any information, please contact us via the website, social media or 101 quoting log reference 2500038276.
