We’re appealing for witnesses after a reported assault near the Ty Hotel, Newport.
We received a report of an alleged assault in the car park and reception of the Ty Hotel, Newport, between 1am and 1.40am on Sunday 16 February.
Officers attended and a 41-year-old man from the Cardiff area was arrested on suspicion of section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent and assault by beating. He has since been charged with these offences.
A 39-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
