Officers on a proactive patrol team located a suspicious car parked in Brynhyfryd, Pontlottyn, Caerphilly, on Sunday 2 February at around 10.45pm.
Three men fled on foot when our roads policing and specialist operations unit approached the vehicle, which was linked to the supply of illegal drugs.
However, with support from a specially-trained police dog, we found one of the men a short distance away.
Officers stopped and searched the man and then searched the car nearby, recovering a quantity of cocaine, cannabis, cash, a mobile phone, a weighing scales and snap bags.
The 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply both class A and class B drugs.
Officers later searched an address linked to the man, recovering a weighing scales, cash and zip bags.
He was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A - cocaine, being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis, and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B - cannabis.
The man, from Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, appeared before Newport Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 4 February when he was remanded into custody.
