Officers responded to a report of disorder in the area of the Kingsway, Newport, at about 8pm on Monday 3 February which involved two individuals, and was observed by a large group of people.
We attended and put a dispersal order in place, covering the local area overnight, to prevent any further anti-social behaviour.
PC Connie Brown, of Gwent Police, said:
“We work closely with our partners and agencies to monitor and reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Newport city centre.
"After reviewing CCTV material and making enquiries, we've identified and contacted the two teenage boys involved in the disorder earlier this week and appropriate action is being taken.
"We will continue to carry out regular patrols in the area and work with our partners to do all we can to tackle anti-social behaviour in the city centre.
"Tackling ASB goes beyond just policing.
“I would ask all parents, guardians and carers to have conversations to help young people in Newport understand that not only does ASB have a negative impact on those around them, but offences committed by them could negatively impact their lives in the future.
