We were called to a report of a house fire in Adam Street, Abertillery, at around 7.55am on Sunday 9 February.
Officers attended along with teams from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Wales Air Ambulance and Welsh Ambulance Service.
Detective Inspector Steve Davies said: "We can confirm that a man and a woman, both in their nineties, have died at the scene of the fire.
"Their next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.
"Following a joint investigation by Gwent Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the cause of the fire is not suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
"We'd like to thank the community for their support."
