A man is due to appear in court today charged with multiple drug supply offences following early-morning warrants at addresses in Newport on Friday 2 May.
Officers from our Serious Organised Crime unit and Newport neighbourhood teams carried out warrants in Malcolm Sargent Close, Ringland, and Arthur Bliss Road, Alway.
We also searched an address in Cumberland Road, St Julians and a garage in Malcolm Sargent Close.
A 31-year-old man has been charged with being concerned in supply of cocaine, concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – cocaine, and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B - cannabis.
The man, from Newport, is set to appear before the city’s magistrates court on Wednesday 7 May.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug – cocaine.
The man, from Newport, has been released on conditional bail as our enquiries continue.
