Did you see anything? Man assaulted on the A468 Bedwas Bridge Roundabout

Officers are appealing for information after a man was assaulted on the A468 Bedwas Bridge roundabout, near the Crossways Retail Park, Caerphilly.

The incident happened at around 2.15am on Wednesday 3rd April 2019. The male victim had immediately prior to the assault, been involved in a collision where his car, a black BMW had collided with a lamppost. A blue Astra, which had been driving behind the BMW prior to the collision, stopped and two men approached the driver. They assaulted him by punching and kicking him causing cuts and bruising before taking his wallet.

Following enquiries by officers, a 28 year old man from the Caerphilly area was arrested on suspicion of robbery and he has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers are continuing to investigate this incident and are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or assault.

The first offender is described as a white man, of heavy build wearing a light coloured t-shirt. The second offender is described as a white man with short spiked hair, wearing a tracksuit and trainers.
