Assistant Chief Constable Nicholas McLain has been a dedicated and valued officer with Gwent Police since 1996 and has served Gwent communities as a uniformed officer throughout his tenure.
Nick’s gained his vast experience by working across a number of departments and fields, including for neighbourhood policing teams, Professional Standards and other uniformed departments.
He is currently our lead for the Estate, Facilities, Finance, Fleet, Technology & Digital Services, Information (Services, Governance & Security) and Contracts & Procurement.
Academically accomplished, Nick holds a master's degree in public service leadership from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and a bachelor’s degree in history & politics from Cardiff University.
His educational background and extensive field experience contribute to his comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of law enforcement and public service leadership.
