As part of our Safer Streets programme, Safe Space is an accreditation scheme set up by Gwent Police to encourage local businesses, community centres and other premises to help those in need.
Being a victim of any type of crime is upsetting, made worse if the person committing the crime is a spouse or partner.
A Safe Space is a somewhere people in need of help and support can go, to be signposted to support agencies and emergency services.
Becoming a “Safe Space”
By joining the accreditation scheme, you will be part of Gwent’s approach to keeping communities safe. Following training provided by Gwent Police’s We Don’t Buy Crime Team, you will be provided with resources and literature to visibly show to those in need of help.
As an accredited space, you will provide a safe harbour and deal with victims with 100% confidentially
