REQUEST
I would like to please request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This data will supplement previous information provided under request 2021/23770. This outlined data relating to charges and arrests for:
- Causing or inciting prostitution for gain (section 52 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003) each year since 2014.
- Controlling prostitution for gain (section 53 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003) each year since 2014.
- Arrest, charge, caution and NFA action for soliciting in operation between 1st August / 1st December 2020.
Can I please have information on:
- The total number of arrests and charges for loitering or soliciting prostitution, broken down each year from 2014 when NICHE data began to 2021. Within the data on loitering and soliciting, can you please detail the amount of arrests and charges that have been given to clients and prostitutes/sex workers each year from 2014 to 2021. I.e along side a total number of soliciting charges, include a break down of the proportion of soliciting arrests and charges given to sex workers vs clients each year from 2014-2020.
- Can you please indicate whether this includes the figures outlined in the request response 2021/23770. If not, can you please outline how many of the 35 soliciting arrests, (28 charged, 1 cautioned, 6 NFA) were for prostitutes/sex workers, and how many for clients?
- Also, could you please outline how many non-statutory prostitute cautions have been given by Gwent Police, each year from 2010.

There have been no arrests of on street sexually exploited adults recorded (prostitutes) for soliciting.
