Please may you provide me with information regarding the overall levels of submitted intelligence reports that were retained within your force on an annual basis.
A retained intelligence report is best understood as one which was held by the force after the initial review and process stage immediately after its submission onto your force intelligence system by a police officer or member of police staff.
Obtaining this data should be a simple and easy process achieved by a routine search of the intelligence system with all search criteria left open, with the exception of the calendar date parameters. I anticipate each search will take only 2-3 minutes by a member of your intelligence department, and overall, no more than 40-50 minutes for a single person to complete the FOI response. If the data is not easily retrievable, for example because it is stored on a microfiche system as a result of a change of intelligence system, then please indicate this for the year affected and provide whatever figure is held on your existing system for the outlined calendar year.
