We are undertaking a project to establish the use of Stalking Protection Orders between 1st January 2021 and 31st December 2021. To this end, we are writing to ask if, under the auspices of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, you could kindly provide the following information:
The number of Interim Stalking Protection Orders applied for and granted during 2021 (01/01/2021 to 31/12/2021)
With the dates given there have been zero interim stalking protection orders that have been applied and granted.
The number of Full Stalking Protection Orders applied for and granted during 2021
There have been zero full stalking protection orders that have been applied and granted in the year 2021.
The number of Stalking Protection Orders breached during 2021
There have been zero breached stalking protection orders in the year 2021.
Whilst this is a request for applications which have been made to the Court within the period, a significant number of cases have been considered for Stalking Protection Orders. However, given the positive actions taken by Gwent Police during the period, including the swift charging of offenders and their remand in custody and significant safeguarding interventions, the legal basis for an Order could not be made out.
