I am seeking the following information:
Since 2005, the number of reports your force has received of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl aged between 13 and 16, contrary to section 6 of the Sexual Offences Act of 1956, where the incident was alleged to have occurred at any point between 1956 and 2003.
If you are unable to provide answers for the whole period, please advise me as to how I can refine my request as per section 16 of the freedom of information act.
Gwent Police are only able to provide data on offences which were recorded from 2017 onwards.
A search was completed for offences which were titled ‘Unlawful Sexual Intercourse With A Girl Under 16’ but there were no results returned. This act was replaced in 2004 with ‘Sexual Activity (Male and Female) (including with a child under 16). A search was therefore completed on this offence.
There were 74 of these offences reported since 2017, where the offence was committed between 1956 and 2003, and the victim was a female aged between 13 and 16 at the time of the offence.
