2022/25054 - Missing Persons
REQUEST
I am sending this request under the Freedom of Information Act to ask for the following information.
- A breakdown of the total number of calls made to Gwent Police that were reportinga missing person for the following years:
2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021
Please breakdown the number of calls by:
- Risk level from low, medium and high;
- The number of calls where the person was of no risk or absent;
- The number of persons that were found in the corresponding risk groups;
Please clearly differentiate between the number of reports made and the number of persons found.
And if there was a call made reporting the same missing persons, please only include as one to avoid duplication.

We are only able to provide data since 2016 as data has been collected differently after that point. The data below shows the number of missing person incidents created as a result of a 999/101 call:

The data about the risk assessment of each incident is based off incidents and not the calls as they are different data sets. A breakdown has been provided for each incident, not for each person, as a person may go missing several times in one year.
