The services Solo provides include building cleaning, grounds maintenance (minor tasks), non-specialist pest control and window cleaning.
Solo are responsible for carrying out planned periodic building cleaning work throughout all Gwent Police assets including offices, conference, lecture, training, gyms, recreational, vehicle, custody, storage, plant, SARC and medical facilities. These tasks include surface cleaning, disinfection, shower cleaning, toilet cleaning, hard floor cleaning, carpet cleaning and upholstered chair cleaning.
Other tasks include:
Bin emptying of general, recycled, confidential waste and transportation of these wastes to the required drop off points.
Minor gritting activities of paths during cold weather.
Cleaning of external windows and PV Solar panel cleaning.
Most of these activities are carried out between 05:00 to 20:00 however as Gwent Police operates 24hrs a day 365 days a year there are times when additional cleaning services are required to meet the business needs and to enable this requirement to be fulfilled Solo operate a 24hr help desk which receives and manages urgent and emergency requests
Solo have been awarded the contract for Cleaning and associated activities mentioned above for the entire Gwent Police Estate (currently 42 assets in total).

Lift Service and Maintenance
Monmouthshire Council are responsible for managing the contract for the inspection and maintenance activities carried out on the passenger and goods service lifts.
Monmouth Council/currently OTIS but the contract is going through renewal estimated completion dates 1st Nov or 1st Dec
Not yet awarded, under tender analysis.
Inspection/maintenance of passenger and goods lifts and 24/7 breakdown coverage.
Thirteen Gwent Police sites included in the contract.
1st November or 1st December 2022.

Final analysis & recommendations will be submitted by Friday 30th September, with a view to award and mobilisation either 1st Nov or 1st Dec 2022, dependent on successful contractor.
Initial period will be for 3 years, with performance option of 2 x 12 month extension periods.

Provision of catering services for planned events this includes pre preparing food off site and delivery to the designated venue.
Bwyd Da Catering can be called to attend any Gwent Police asset or function although 90% of the services they carry out are at the HQ Gwent building for corporate functions and passing out parades.

Elis UK.
Spend for Financial Year 21/22 - £11,565.80
The Laundry services Elis provide include the collection and delivery of Custody blankets, anti-rip tops, anti-rip bottoms, anti-rip blankets, hand towels, bath towels, tea towels, bed sheets, duvet covers, table clothes and wrist guards from all locations within Gwent Police.
Elis have been awarded the contract for the laundry services mentioned above for the entire Gwent Police Estate (currently 42 assets in total) but most of the services they provide are carried out on items taken from Ystrad Mynach and Newport Central.
