Please can i ask whether or not any of your detainees in your custody centre have ever been given a room to speak to their solicitor that either has a microphone / intercom unit in? and if so what were the conditions?
No detainee will be placed into a room that is equipped with monitoring or listening equipment for a private consultation with a legal representative.
There will be occasions where an interview room is used for the purpose of consultation but the interview equipment is turned off and will not be active as an officer needs to log into the digital interview recorder at the beginning of the interview.
