I wish to enquire about reported pick pocketing hot spots within the Gwent policing area during the month of December. Could you please supply to following information:
There is no offence for “Pick-pocketing”, Gwent police has instead used “Thefts from Person”. There are only 5 local authorities in Gwent, and so instead will provide the number of ‘theft from the person’ offences recorded within each neighbourhood, ordered by highest number to lowest. Number 1 and 2 have been answered in the same answer. For the value of the items stolen, if there is a range given, the highest figure in that range has been selected.
The table below shows the number of recorded offences with the title of ‘Theft from the person’ in each December from 2017 – 2021, split down by neighbourhood. This data also includes attempted thefts. The following offences have been included within the data provided below. Data correct as of 04/11/2022.
