REQUEST
Please can you provide the following information for the 2024 calendar year:
- How many suspected banned or dangerous dogs were seized by police
- How many of the seized dogs were suspected XL Bullies
- How many banned or dangerous dogs were destroyed by police
- How many of the destroyed dogs were XL Bullies
CLARIFICATION NEEDED
Please can you confirm what is meant by “destroy by the police”.
If facilitating by taking to a vets for destruction – we would not class this as destroyed by the police.
Whilst 'destroyed by police' is open to interpretation, in its simplest form we would consider this to be dogs we have destroyed i.e. shot dead by firearms officers ONLY.
