I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
regarding racially aggravated offences in England and Wales for the year of
2024. Specifically, I would like to request the following data from you:
1. The total number of recorded offences flagged as racially aggravated or
‘race hate crime’ in 2024.
2. Of these in how many cases was the ethnicity recorded?
3. Where the victim’s ethnicity was recorded, what was the breakdown, by
ethnicity?
4. Of these offences, what was the type of offence (e.g. assault, harassment,
criminal damage)?
