Request 1:

Please provide data on use of Section 60AA Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 powers in your police force area from January 2017 to the date of this request, including:

• Number of authorisations issued under s.60AA
• Number of individuals required to remove face coverings
• Number of arrests for failure to comply
• Any equality-monitoring data recorded (sex, age, ethnicity, religion or belief, disability)
• If possible, please indicate which instances were connected to protests or public assemblies

Request 2:

Please provide the following information for your police force area relating to Section 11 of the Public Order Act 2023 (“suspicionless” stop and search authorisations):

1.    Number of Section 11 authorisations made since commencement.

2.    For each authorisation, please provide (if held):

• Date and time period of authorisation
• Geographic area covered
• Number of people searched
• Number of arrests made as a result

3.    Aggregate equality-monitoring data (if recorded): Sex, Age group, Ethnicity, Religion or belief, Disability.

If no authorisations have been used, please confirm this. If data are not held in an easily retrievable format, please provide what is available and state any gaps.
