The family of a man who died in a collision near Llanover, Monmouthshire, has paid tribute to him, describing him as 'a larger-than-life character'.
Officers attended a report of a road traffic collision on the A4042 between Llanover and the B4269 turn-off to Pencroesoped, at around 2.50pm on Saturday 5 April.
The motorcyclist, a 68-year-old man from Croesyceiliog, Torfaen, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He can now be named as Gordon Ashman, who spent all his working life as an electrician.
His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Gordon's family paid tribute to him, saying:
"Gordon Ashman, commonly known as "Ashy" was born and raised in Sebastopol and lived in Croesyceiliog for the past 38 years.
"He spent all his working life as an electrician, proudly working for Little Mill Services for the past 23 years.
"Ashy was an avid biker from birth, mainly due to his father's influence, and also a keen outdoorsman.
"Family was very important to him and he was a devoted father to his son.
"Ashy was a larger-than-life character, once met never forgotten."
Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and we're asking for anyone who may have witnessed it or was travelling along the A4042 between Llanover and the B4269 turn-off to Pencroesoped around the time, to contact us.
